our beautiful quilt from Shirley

Chuck's sister, Shirley, MADE us this beautiful quilt for our wedding present. It is so awesome! We just received it the other day and were so excited because she told us last year she was making it so we just couldn't wait to see it.  I can't believe she made it herself.  It's so intricate.  We took some photos of it to show y'all.  She even made us a cute bag to put it in.  Thanks again Shirley, we LOVE it :)

wedding portrait

We got our wedding portrait back from being framed.  We think it turned out great, it doesn't look as ginormous as we thought it would (thank goodness) :)

diaper bag and blanket

For our first wedding anniversary, Chuck got me the cutest diaper bag and receiving blanket.  I didn't even have to tell him to get it for me, he thought of it all on his own.  What a wonderful and thoughtful husband he is :)  I got him a 20 x 30 wedding portrait of us.  I thought that was a fine size until we went to get it framed and we discovered that there's a reason why 20 x 30 isn't your typical portrait size.  After a mat and frame it might be the largest wedding portrait ever made. Even Prince Charles and Princess Diana's portrait wasn't this large. Once we get it back I will take a photo of it.

our first wedding anniversary

Today Chuck and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary.  What a year it's been.  We got married, lost our jobs, Chuck started a business, moved to South Carolina and are HAVING A BABY!!!  It's been a wonderful first year and I can't wait for more to come :)

For laughs, I decided to try on my wedding dress.  Unfortunately it doesn't fit quite as well as last year.  Seriously, Chuck and I were in hysterics when I tried this on!!

Now I am going to eat some of our wedding cake :)

baby belly

How my belly is progressing (for those who don't see me often).

The 21 1/2 weeks was taken today, June 19.  I can hardly believe we've rounded the half way point. Sometimes I forget there's a human inside of me, until I feel him kick the crud out of me.  I will say that although I might not be doing much working out, the baby sure is ALL THE TIME!!!!!  Chuck got to feel it the other day, he was so excited.

We have been thinking of some names for the baby now that we know it's a boy. We really like the name Banks Minot Hipsher (Minot is my dad's name).  We keep thinking of others but Banks is our favorite for now.

baby's first clothes

Last week, my mom and I went out looking for boy's clothes just to prove to ourselves that there are just as many cute boy clothes as girls.  First we went to a boutique, not a good place to start. The only boy clothes there were jon jons (which are much too fru fru for my taste).  Next we headed to some place more practical, Old Navy.  And finally, we tracked down some cute boy clothes.  We were thrilled to find that they do exist!!!

My mom couldn't resist and bought the baby something - his first outfits.  Although, she preferred the blue shirts over the gray ones and did add her "well, it's your child and you get the color you like, but I don't like gray, it makes you look so washed out".   So we ended up getting a jumper in blue and the others in gray!  Thanks Mom :)

the baby's nursery

now that we know we are having a boy we can start thinking about ideas for the nursery. there's only one problem, the baby's room is currently a "storage" room.  as you might have noticed from the pictures, we have a long way to go.  chuck can't seem to let go of ANYTHING from the past 20 years.  so he keeps transporting the same boxes from house to house.  lord only knows what's in them.  OK, not ALL the stuff is his - i do have two boxes, a kitchen table, 4 chairs and a guitar (that i have never played because that would mean i would have to practice).  needless to say, we have got some work to do.

Oh, Boy!!

We decided it was time to fire back up the blog.  We are 19 weeks 1 day into the pregnancy.  We went to the doctor today for an ultrasound and we found out we are having a boy (the first picture will show you it's "cash and prizes"!!!!!)
I will start posting more regularly now so that I can keep everyone up to date on the fun stuff like the nursery, how big my belly is, etc.  We just wanted you all to know the good news.
